Recipe Box // Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oat bars

Anything that involves chocolate and peanut butter I am all about! This recipe is SO easy it only has nine ingredients and is a cinch to make! These bars come out so rich and chewy they are the perfect treat for a girls night I am going to. I found the recipe from Sallys Baking Addiction and used her recipe.

Ingredients

- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- 1 Cup creamy peanut butter
-2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 Cup whole wheat( or white) flour
- 1 Cup old fashioned rolled oats
-1 Teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 Cup milk ( I used almond milk)
- 1/2 Cup chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat Oven to 350F degrees. Line a 8x8 Baking pan with parchment paper (I just sprayed it with nonstick spray). Set aside

With an electric mixer combine peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in Vanilla and be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of bowl.

On medium speed, add in flour, oats, baking soda and salt. The dough will be very thick and clumpy but it will come together. Slowly add in the milk and scrape the sides again. Fold in chocolate chips .

Once all ingredients are completely combined pour dough into 8x8 pan and press down lightly to spread it out. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown on top.

I melted some chocolate and drizzled it on top! Wait for it to completely cool before cutting.

Enjoy!!
